These two modern houses were designed on a parcel of land that was just below the minimum lot size for a dual occupancy development. The site slopes down considerably away from the street so both dwellings were designed as one-storey at the front and two-storey at the back, helping the houses blend into the neighbouring streetscape of single-storey residences.
Courtyards are incorporated into the houses to maximise sunlight and promote air flow throughout. The living spaces are situated at the rear and overlook the Council reserve. Both open layouts allow for the residents to retract the doors, allowing for the flow of inside space to outside.
