Set in the Griffin Conservation Area of Castlecrag with relatively dense vegetation, this renovated 1950s architect-designed house overlooking Sailors Bay marinas and The Spit beyond, required an extension to accommodate a young and growing family. The new master wing, which included a master bedroom, master ensuite and walk in wardrobe, was designed as a parents’ retreat with a clearer separation from the rest of the residence. Aneeta Sashless Windows were incorporated into a corner of the master bedroom to capture panoramic views of the vast Middle Harbour waterways and district. The re-design utilised more open planning and also involved updating finishes of existing spaces to more seamlessly integrate with the new modern extension.
