contract administration

The architect’s role in administering the contract includes but is not limited to the following tasks:
· Making site inspections to ensure that the building is built in accordance with the contract documents
· Resolving issues arising on site
· Assessing contractor’s progress claims for payment and issuing payment certificates
· Assessing contractor’s claims for variations to the project
· Answering contractor’s general queries regarding the project and documentation
· Attending site meetings with the contractor and owner and providing additional information required by the contractor
· Assisting with the choice of provisional sum items allowed for in the contract but not selected at the time of signing
